We still have a way to go before the pavilion project has earned enough money for the $35,000 Hupy and Abraham match. Please consider passing a hat, making individual donations, or buying a brick to get us to our goal and earn the entire amount offered by Hupy’s firm. If we can do that, along with the funds we have already raised, we can pay for the pavilion in its entirety through fundraising, not using one cent of membership money. That is our ultimate goal. 100% of the project funded through donations. We’ve done it before. Let’s do it again.
The Brick Cornerstone Project campaign is ongoing. This campaign allows you to purchase an engraved brick to be included in a cornerstone wall that will be constructed on site once the pavilion is completed and will allow you to become part of a permanent structure at the land. More information and an order form are found on page 3 of this newsletter.
At the last Board meeting it was decided to award the pavilion build to Brickl Brothers, Inc. out of West Salem, WI. Stan Brickl, owner of the company, is an ABATE member. We are in the process of receiving an updated material bid from them to account for current construction material costs. Once that is received and the total is agreed upon, the contract will be signed, and the project will be scheduled for construction as soon as Brickl is able to start. ABATE will save the tent rental every year for the Summer Hummer (this year rental costs were a little higher than $4,600) which is a huge savings for us. Consider how much money we have used on tent rental fees since we started having the Hummer at the land, thousands of dollars that could have been used elsewhere. When you look at land development, these are the things that make a difference not only now, but in our future.

ABATE of Wisconsin’s
Pavilion “Cornerstone” Project
Hupy & Abraham, SC has offered ABATE of WI up to $35,000 in matching funds to help finance a good portion of the balance needed to construct the permanent Pavilion at ABATE Acres. ABATE of WI needs to raise an additional $35,000 to qualify for the matching funds – for a combined total of $70,000. In order to help ABATE of Wisconsin earn the $35,000 to be eligible to receive Hupy & Abraham’s match, we are offering members and friends an opportunity to become part of a permanent fixture at our land.
A “Cornerstone” Brick wall will be constructed next to the Pavilion that will be made up of individual engraved bricks. Members may purchase these bricks, engraved with their name, for a $300 donation.
Past Donations: Anyone who has made a previous donation to the Pavilion Fund project since its inception in the spring of 2021, will have the option of paying the difference between what they originally donated and the cost of a brick, to make the $300 mark. This additional donation would then entitle them to an engraved brick and inclusion on the wall. Those who previously made a donation that exceeded the $300 mark will be notified to determine if they desire to have an engraved brick in their name included in the “Cornerstone” project.
Leave your footprint at ABATE Acres by becoming a permanent addition or “Cornerstone” of ABATE Acres. Help us raise the funds necessary for the Hupy and Abraham $35,000 fund match. Let future generations of ABATE of Wisconsin know that they have a strong foundation of members to build on with ABATE of Wisconsin. (See page 3 of this newsletter for your order form.)
