Stan Brickl from Brickl Brothers, Inc., the company hired to construct the Pavilion tells us that he has the project start scheduled for the beginning of December 2022. This is very beneficial to us because we don’t have to worry about covering the ground, so it doesn’t freeze where the posts are going into the ground. Those post holes will be dug, and the posts will be cemented in before a hard freeze sets in. Apparently, the entire construction should not take too much longer than a week, weather and materials permitting.
We still have a bit to go before the building is entirely paid for with donations, something we have vowed to do. We do this because not all of our members support the idea of ABATE owning this property so we will not use money from membership funds to make improvements here. Improvements made to date at the land are paid for through fundraising efforts and donations. This means our fundraising campaigns are still in full swing. Join in our efforts to complete the fundraising needed to build the pavilion.
A great way to do this and become part of the project itself is to buy a brick for the Cornerstone wall which will be built next spring.
The Brick Cornerstone Project campaign allows you to purchase an engraved brick to be used in the building of a cornerstone wall that will be constructed on site once the pavilion is completed and will become part of a permanent structure at the land. More information and an order form are found on page 3 of this newsletter.
Please forward any questions about the project to the Land Development committee.
