Update on the Pavilion Project

It’s happening! Materials and equipment were delivered December 12th and 13th and then on the 14th it snowed! I’m not talking about an inch of light fluff, I mean heavy, wet snow! So, everything was on hold until December 21st when the poles were set. Then overnight on the 21st, it snowed. This snow was fluffier, but we had a lot and then we had the wind, and did I mention we had subzero temps? However, in the very near future things should be progressing again.  Halleluiah! Next time you come up to the land, you should be able to see what we’ve been planning for several years now. Sometime next spring the Cornerstone Wall will be erected in close proximity to the Pavilion structure itself. The wall design won’t be complete until we know how many bricks have been purchased. We plan on building it in late spring, either by the Hummer or shortly thereafter.

The land committee is still committed to paying for this building in full by donations received. We still have a shortfall, but we have a solution. If you haven’t purchased a brick yet, please consider doing so. It not only helps our efforts in fundraising, but it also will leave your name engraved on a wall at ABATE Acres itself, for current and future members to see. Whenever I go to a place that involves engraved stones, I always take extra time to read them. The people listed there believed enough in the cause or the project to leave their name etched as a testimonial for future generations.

Join in our efforts to complete the fundraising needed to build the pavilion. More information and an order form are found on page 3 of this newsletter. If a brick is not in your plans, please consider donating any amount. Mail a check notated for the Pavilion Fund and mail it to Laurie Thompson. Her address is on the last page of this newsletter. And from the entire Land Committee and members of ABATE of Wisconsin, Thank You.

Please forward any questions about the project to the Land Development committee.
