The Summer Hummer T-Shirt design has been chosen, and the winner is Lizzy Dressler – Region 8A. Woot… Woot… Congratulations! Order forms for the Hummer T-shirts will be available soon in the newsletter and will be available for downloading on our website. The shirts can be shipped to you at an additional cost, or you can pick them up at the Summer Hummer in June and save yourself shipping. They will also be available for purchase in our online store.
Speaking of things online, check out the Summer Hummer happenings online at abatewis.org, double click on the Hummer poster and you will be taken to the Summer Hummer page that gives you more details of things to come. Thank you to Krissy Bowe for becoming our Webmistress. Please submit any pictures from last year’s event for posting online to: news30letter@outlook.com.
Advance tickets are now available for purchase through our website. Members can access this by clicking on events at the top of the page then scrolling down until you find the Summer Hummer (in June). There you can click on the type of ticket you wish to purchase. Remember that these advance tickets are only available until June 6th at which time attendees will pay full price of $40 per member or $75 per non-member. Get yours now and save yourself some extra cash.
“If we build it, they will come.” We are still in the process of soliciting donations to build our pavilion and save the money we use each year to rent the big tent. The committee is doubtful that we have the time to have the structure built by this year’s Hummer, however the possibility is there to have it built in the fall or at least by Hummer 2023. A lot of that hinges on building funds available. Consider the pavilion fund as your one charitable event donation when you do your regional events this year. As we all know, charity begins at home and the pavilion is something that all of members will be able to enjoy for years to come.
Summer Hummer committee department contacts are listed below. Please reach out to them in order to volunteer during the Hummer. If you work (2) 4-hour shifts, you are entitled to a refund of $35 – or the cost of a member’s weekend pass. That’s a win – win for all of us.

To date, the Hummer committee is still finalizing other entertainment and vendor options for the Hummer. If you were at OT, then you might have an idea of what we’re trying to arrange. At this point there are no promises, but we’re hopeful.
Establishment Program. We are offering our Day Pass Establishment program again this year. ABATE friendly business are able to purchase (10) Hummer day passes for Saturday only at a cost of $150 – payable at the time they receive their packets. These businesses then have the option to sell the day passes at face value or $25 each and make themselves a profit of $100 for doing so. In the past, businesses have given them to customers, raffled them off at events or sold them for what they paid for them. Be sure to let your businesses know that the day pass entitles the attendee to stay at the Hummer all day Saturday and to camp overnight until Sunday, as ABATE of WI promotes being responsible. Contact Laurie Thompson or Betty Roberge if you have a business that is interested in participating.
Let’s SATURATE THE STATE with advertising and make this the best fundraiser ever! Anyone that has posters are encouraged to get those out and encourage attendance.
The greatest advertising we have lined up for the 2022 Hummer is YOU.
Talk it up at each meeting. Bring friends and family – members or not. Start deciding what “theme” your region will be using for the “Regional Campsite Theme Contest.” Let’s prove that 25% + of our own members are willing to support the biggest state fundraiser of the year! Just Imagine. Just Be There. Just Do It!
Why do we want to? Because – Motorcycling Matters!
