Thank you to all the officers who took time out to attend training last month. I hope that the weekend brought a lot of information and new ideas your way along with a chance to visit with new and old friends. Thank you, region treasurers, for sticking it out after a long day on Saturday to learn a little more about treasury, I appreciate each and every one of you and all you do for this organization. And one final thank you to everyone who helped with selling tickets, donated items for the auction, helped with the auction, and purchased all those items to help offset the cost of the training. THANK YOU!
We covered raffle rules and regulations during the general session… I understand that things have gotten more difficult and time consuming, but I urge you to please think outside the box for your fundraising efforts. Fundraising is a large portion of our income and without it we may not be able to continue all the things we are currently doing. PLEASE keep trying in your fund-raising efforts and contact me if there is anything I can do to help. If you get contacted by the State of WI gaming commission for a raffle audit, contact me right away. I have been able to attend a couple of the meetings so far and will continue to attend if I am able. Education is the main purpose of these audits and the more we can embrace that, the better off we’ll be.
Our
next state raffle has begun. Tickets were distributed at officer’s training to
some regions, but we have a lot left to get out there! We are signing out to
regions in 10 or 20 ticket packs. Tickets are $50 each and only 600 were
printed. 20 places will be paid out totaling $18,000. The winner will be drawn
on Saturday, June 15 at ABATE Acres during the Summer Hummer and you do not
need to be present to win – although the party is shaping up quite nicely. I
don’t know why you wouldn’t want to be there!! Please contact me or Ken Nelson
to get tickets. They cannot be sent through the mail so distribution via
District Directors seems to work the best.
Have a great month!
