October 2018 Treasurer’s Report

Did your region have an election recently?  If so, please contact me immediately so we can get your signature card updated on your region’s checking account.  If you are able to obtain a new card before the annual meeting, please bring it along in October, as all accounts need to have the Region Rep, Region Treasurer, Executive Director and State Treasurer as authorized signers.  Most of the time I can get this handled over the phone and get the paperwork mailed to me, but not always.  Please get in touch with me and we’ll get it figured out.

I sure hope you have February 8-10, 2019 blocked off in your calendar for Officer’s Training at the Hotel Mead in Wisconsin Rapids.  We will certainly be discussing all the treasury topics in a separate break out session so bring questions and ideas!!  I am always looking to improve the way things are done and make it more efficient for all involved.  Officer’s Training will also include raffle rules and regulations during the general session.  As you are reading this, we will have gone through our second audit of a region with the State Office of Charitable Gaming.  Do not be alarmed if you are contacted by the state and please let me know if you are, as I would like to be involved with each of these training sessions (as I like to call them) if I am able to.  I have a pretty good relationship with the office and have reached out many times with questions.  These are a great opportunity for me, as well, to keep up on the newest regulations.  I appreciate all the regions who have been forwarding me information regarding their raffles.  That makes it all the easier to produce records for the state when asked.  And of course, if you have any questions about how you should be conducting your raffles and fun runs please contact me before your event, so we can prevent things from getting done the wrong way.
